Frutiful Futures II

Welcome to the design exhibition Fruitful Futures ii in Krónunn á Grandi! During Design March, Krónan, the traditional space that is a grocery store, has been given a new role as an exhibition space. Among fruits and cheese, you can find diverse projects such as a trip for children, edible packaging and dating a food psychologist.

All of them have in common, however, to touch on innovation and design, sustainability and reuse, new perspectives and conjectures The exhibition Fruitful Futures ii is the second exhibition of the Crown and partners at Design March.

Product design students at the Iceland University of the Arts reflected on the future of grocery stores and critically examined how digital technological innovations could transform the procurement process in the next century Later in the course, students focused on conjectural design and the future, looking at how consumer behavior can be steered towards sustainability or more informed choices.

The exhibition consists of two collaborative projects of the Crown The first is the Frisian Games, a journey for the younger generation through the fruit and vegetable department, created by Studio Pluto and Brandenburg The second collaboration is with the Iceland University of the Arts, where the Crown was the main subject of a course in the department of design of LHÍ, a product design student in the second year. The students' projects focus on the food system, systemic changes and guesses about the future.

Opening party on April 4 between 21-22. The exhibition is open during the opening hours of the Crown, 9-21 during Design March.
