Drifting Mindscape/Reying Mindspace

Consider the possibility of a space within a space.
With no connection to a memory, it may still carry a sense of familiarity.
Enter that space: a space within another space, your body, located within yet another space - the room in which you stand.
Does the space return in the mind?
What might occur if we were to meet in that place?

Through the subtle spatial movement of water in response to a pulse, a synchronization emerges within an immersive soundscape, inviting the spectator to address an interior realm of perception, where bodily rhythm and environmental movement are experienced as a shared, resonant space.
Method and material take on the form of a three-dimensional painting, or an immersive audiovisual installation of painted and colored texts and sound. Creating a connection between human presence and perception, expressed through sounds of heartbeat and water that shadow a shared rhythm between body and element, in fluctuations with the audience inside the space.
Weaving in my own experience with sharing an inner space - being pregnant with my kids, I contemporated this idea: To have a deep connection with someone that experts in a space (an incredible sac) being his whole world, that reactions within a space (my body). While not being able to see, hear or touch him, the image of my growing baby was translated to me with sounds through fluids by ultrasound. In this work I doubt the confidence between two worlds or spaces and how water comes an image.
Kristin Einarsdóttir Cavan (b.1992) is a visual artist based in Reykjavík. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art at the Iceland University of the Arts in 2021. Her works have been exhibited in Iceland and abroad. Kristín works across media, with painting in the leading role. There she redefines painting in its broadest sense, translating the perception of sound into image and vice versa. In her works, she explorres how forms and colors interact with sound as well as experimenting with the idea of the main themes. The main themes of her works are focused on space, time and behavior of women, often seen and presented on society, often seen and presented with images.
