Breiðholtið is divided into three main areas; lower Breiðholt, upper Breiðholt and Seljahverfi, each of which has certain local characteristics. In the project, the students chose one of the three following areas to work with: Mjódd in lower Breiðholt, Austurberg in upper Breiðholt and Rangársel in Seljahverfi. These areas are considered promising for development as the central area of their neighborhood. The students' task is to design apartments and services that bring the suburban atmosphere of the area closer to the urban landscape by virtue of architecture, society and sustainability.
