Migraine is a common neurovascular disease. Therefore, it can be divided into two groups; migraine without aura and migraine with aura The year comes just before headache and is then the second of four stages in the migraine process In my case, the year is physical and visual where I feel tingling and have visual disturbances.
The shapes in the show are inspired by the shapes I see and feel as the oar comes upon me The wood is a symbol of the nerves as it is alive and cracks form during the processing of the wood The cracks represent my perception of tingling in the hands and visual disturbances in the state of the oar.

Migraine is a common neurological disease. It can be divided into two groups; migraine without aura and migraine with aura. The aura comes right before a headache and is the second of four stages in the migraine process. In my case the aura is physical and visual where I feel tingling in my arms and have visual disturbances.
The forms in the exhibition are inspired by the shapes I see and feel when the aura comes over me. The wood symbols the nerves as it is alive and cracks appear while the wood is being processed. The cracks represent my perception of tingling in the hands and visual disturbances while I am in the state of the aura.
The exhibition is part of the solo exhibition series of BA students in their third year of art, which will take place between September 26 - November 28, 2024.
