Talk about creative industries: The creative process of video games

The Creative Arts Research Center (RSSG) in collaboration with CCP invites you to a conversation about creative industries Wednesday, April 8, 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM in the premises of CCP In Gróska, 3rd floor, at Bjargargatu 1, 102 Reykjavík.

This time we focus on video game making as a creative discipline and the diverse and creative processes that underlie the development of games The discussion will be about how other creative industries and technical work are woven into the process and what challenges and opportunities come with working as a game designer The event takes place in English.

We are joined by four speakers who give us an insight into the creative process:

  • Halldór Snær Kristjánsson, Managing Director, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Dark Games
  • María Guðmundsdóttir, managing director and founder of Parity Games
  • Joon Van Hove, freelance game designer
  • Steingerður Lóa Gunnarsdóttir, freelance game designer and part-time teacher at Reykjavík University

Presentations will be streamed, but following the talks, the stream will end and discussions will be opened among those present. The CCP offers coffee to those present.

 

Research center creative Articles (RSSG) is organizing the series of meetings Conversation on creative industries in collaboration with CCP. The founding members of RSSG are the University of Iceland, the Iceland Academy of the Arts, the University of Bifröst, the University of Akureyri and the University of Hólum.
