Anna Guðjónsdóttir's art has its roots in painting and nature.

She developed her passionate interest in nature through travel to distant places, including Svalbard and elsewhere. Also by looking at natural history museums as well as researching and learning about the tradition of landscape painting.

Anna likes to work with the exhibition space and activates it as an aspect of the overall work She wonders how one can define oneself, as part of nature today and what possibilities exist to be more aware of one's own history in relation to the universal history.

In 2022, Anna began collaborating with a group of international scientists whose research topic was „Volcanoes, Climate and History“ From this collaboration, texts published internationally and two art exhibitions have emerged, the solo exhibition „Curiosity Unbound“ in Bielefeld, Germany, 2023 and the group exhibition „Magma Rising“ at the Heong Gallery, Cambridge University, UK, 2025.
