102 REYKJAVÍK 2050
Second-year student exhibition in the Department of Architecture
102 REYKJAVÍK 2050
What philosophy shapes your design? And what is the design of the philosophy?
In the course The City Review - Urban Lab Design Agency has students looked at how urban planning can be used as power for the transformation of the city space, and thus had a positive social and environmental impact. City review, 102 REYKJAVÍK 2050, is an opportunity for students to contribute to shaping a healthier, safer and fairer city plan.
The 102 REYKJAVÍK 2050 exhibition is the result of group work and collaboration between the second year's class except in architecture at LHÍ. In the first half of the second half, the students identified the area of 102 Reykjavík and submitted a book with extensive results. In the second half of the second half, students, in groups of three, were assigned an area of approximately 300 x 300m in size. The project consisted of designing a new city plan within those limits with a vision for the future for 2050 as a guide. At the same time, students were asked to examine the context of the city and at the same time take a stand on the area where the domestic airport is today.
