Policy of the Iceland Academy of the Arts 2024-2028

The title of the new direction of the University of the Arts refers to the role of art, it condenses our purpose, provides refreshing inspiration and provides for both wings.

The policy was developed throughout last winter in a broad conversation with the school's staff and students. The main focus of that work was defining our common goals for the coming years and clearly mapping the steps we need to take in order to achieve them.

There are three guiding principles for the new direction of the University of the Arts, and under each one of them we set three main goals. Under each main objective, we have defined and timed a number of actions that will enable us to successfully implement the strategy over the next four years. In our new direction, we emphasize creative thinking, diversity and being a driving force in an ever-changing world.

I am extremely grateful for the participation of staff and students in shaping the policy. We set our sights high for the coming years and I believe that this way we can expand reality and have an impact on the future.
