Two honorary professors at the Iceland Academy of the Arts are awarded the title of honorary professor

The Iceland Academy of the Arts has awarded two persons the title honorary professor for their unique contribution to the arts, studies and development of teaching and research in the academic field of arts.

Guðmundur Oddur Magnússon (Goddur) has been named an honorary professor at design department on the basis of his strong and decades-long contribution to teaching and research in the field of art and design, and his intensive cultural education in the public sphere in recent decades As a professional director and professor at the Department of Design, he has played a key role in shaping the professional debate on design in Iceland and has made a significant contribution to the university education of generations of creative designers.

Bryndís H. Snæbjörnsdóttir has been named an honorary professor at art department for her contribution to research and university teaching in art and the development of the professional field of art in this country as well as internationally, as the second part of the duo Snæbjörnsdóttir/Wilson, together with Mark Wilson Bryndís is a pioneer in art research and the first Icelandic visual artist to receive a doctorate in her field. In her work as a professor and professional director of a master's program in art, she has had a formative influence on the development of the study and research environment of the University of the Arts.
