The graduation ceremony of the NAIP program is about to begin
Graduation events for students in the international master's program NAIP (e. New Audiences Innovative Practice) or Creativity, communication and entrepreneurship take place these days The events take place in the Nordic House, Bíó Paradís, Smekkleysa, Salnum, Elliðaárstöð, the Old Fire Station, Gufunesi and Núllin, Bankastræti between March 26 and May 1 next year.
There are a total of nine events that are of different kinds and stretch across many art forms, as the learning path makes sure that each student finds his voice and his way of expression through different media.
Sigurður Halldórsson, director of NAIP, says that the program has been in development since 2007. The first students at LHÍ graduated in 2011 and there have been about 50 graduates. Several European schools have been involved in the development of the program as well as schools from the United States and Singapore, but LHÍ has been involved since the beginning of the program, together with Prins Claus University of Music in Groningen in the Netherlands. Several students and teachers have just returned from a week-long stay in Groningen, where work was done interdisciplinary on artistic creation in the Grand Theater. Although the program is officially a music program, there is a lot of room for experimentation with the interdisciplinary nature of the arts and many students work with the social value of the arts, and a lot of cooperation is put into both inside and outside the school.
According to Professor Berglindar of the NAIP course, she says artistic audacity characterizes students who choose the NAIP course and it is pleasing to see that students seek knowledge indiscriminately in different departments of the school The course is inherently open and invites students to find their own way, which includes a lot of choice within the course „We believe in supporting each student on their journey and that journey is never as ethnic”, says Berglind.
It should be noted that you can apply for the NAIP course until next April 8.
