A jury in a design competition to make the Customs House the future building of the Iceland University of the Arts met for the first time recently. Now it can be said that the road trip has officially started and the school is one step closer to moving its activities under one roof. It is estimated that the competition itself will officially start after the end of the year.

The jury consists of the following members:

-Vala Pálsdóttir, chairman of the jury and representative of the Ministry of University, Industry and Innovation
-Kristín Eysteinsdóttir, rector of the Iceland University of the Arts
-Jóhannes Dagsson, professor at the department of fine art of the Iceland University of the Arts
-Dagur Eggertsson, architect, Architects Association of Iceland
-Sigríður Ólafsdóttir, architect, Architects Association of Iceland
-Jón M. Guðmundsson, engineer, Icelandic Society of Engineers
-Kolbeinn Kolbeinsson, consultant KK consulting

„the Iceland University of the Arts celebrates this important milestone, which is a historic turning point for the school and for the future of culture and art in the country.“ said Kristín Eysteinsdóttir, rector of LHÍ, after the meeting. Óskar Jósefsson, director of FSRE, agreed:
“Let's celebrate this important phase in the project and wish the jury members well in their work.”
