The film festival Nordisk Panorama will take place in Malmö, Sweden on the 19th-25th. September The festival, which is now being held for the 35th time, is the flagship of Nordic filmmaking, where the focus is on documentaries and short films.
The Faculty of Film Arts has three representatives at this year's festival, namely Steinar Þór Kristinsson and Telma Huld Jóhannesdóttir, students in 2nd year and Erlendur Sveinsson, subject manager at the department.
Steinar Þórs Kristinsson's contribution to the festival is the short film Fragments of the Attempt or Fragment of the incident. The film competes for the title of Best Nordic Short Film and is about mothers hunting in a wooded area when a strange sound catches their attention Steinar is both the director and producer of the film The best Nordic short film will be presented at the festival's award ceremony on September 24.
The short film Moon Pie Vanilla will be shown on September 21st, but the show will be dedicated to short films in the comedy category. Erlendur Sveinsson, professional director in the film art department, is the director and screenwriter of the film and talks about a nervous robber and his attempt to rob a convenience store. However, he does not seem to be the only one on those errands in the shop in question.
Telma Huld Jóhannesdóttir is the director and screenwriter of the film 84% but the film was selected for screening at the event The Nordic Short Film Pitch. The event aims to unite people in short film making and create a platform for them to share their experiences and form a possible collaboration between them. The film 84% is about a woman who has difficulty finding her feet in society after her sexual abuse complaint is dropped.
