BA Classical Teacher Training
Ingunn Erla began studying trumpet playing in 2009 at Akureyri's Music School with Vilhjálmi Inga Sigurðarson. There she also studied with Ella Väla Ármannsdóttir for several years as well as taking an active part in the school's brass band and Akureyri's Brass Band. She completed her advanced degree from there in the spring of 2021 and in the fall she went to the Iceland Academy of the Arts, where she began studying classical instrumentation with Eiríki Erni Pálsson. Shortly after, Ingunn became passionate about teaching and changed it to a classical instrument teacher and has been teaching in the Austurbær School Band as a trumpet teacher for the past year.
Ingunn has participated in numerous projects throughout her schooling at LHÍ, where it is worth mentioning the Youth Orchestra of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony of the Young People and many of the projects with the Lúdrasveit of the working class. She has played with the organist Pétri Nóa in masses and radio fairs in Reykjavík and Selfoss, as well as attending trumpet massterclass courses outside the school, among others in the United States and Denmark.
Ingunn aims to continue studying trumpet playing after graduation.
