Piano course in August | Iceland University of the Arts

The course is structured as a traditional classical instrument course in open private and group classes The course is aimed at piano students in the university, secondary and middle levels The emphasis is on technical schooling, good musical performance, along with knowledge of different musical styles Students are trained to perform, perform works in front of a group and take the instruction of teachers Students have the opportunity to participate in concerts at the end of the course.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will have an increased understanding of the following:

Music performance, knowledge and insight into different musical styles
Technical training in piano playing
Training in performing and performing work in front of a group

Teachers: Edda Erlendsdóttir and Peter Máté pianists
Teaching language: Icelandic and English
Location: LHÍ premises in Skipholt 31, Dynjandi and Flyglasalur
Teaching period: August 6-16, concert on the last day
Teaching days: Teaching every day is also on weekends, teaching time is from 10:00-17:30
Teaching arrangements: 3 private lessons, group lessons and final concerts, classes are decided in consultation with the students
Assessment: Activity in class and musical performance Active participants receive written feedback from instructors.
Who is the course for: College, graduate and middle school piano students and other interested listeners.
Units: 2 ECTS, the course can also be taken without credits if students have not completed their matriculation exam.
Prerequisites: The course is intended for students of college, secondary and middle levels of piano performance Please specify the level, teacher and/music school in the application.
