Two positions of doctoral students have been hired in connection with a new research program in arts and art studies organized by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Iceland, the Iceland University of the Arts and the Icelandic Museum of Art. It is Berglind Jóna Hlynsdóttir and Sigríður Regína Sigurthórsdóttir who were hired and their research will focus on time-related media, works from the collection of the Icelandic Museum of Art, including the Vasulka archive preserved in the Icelandic Museum of Art.

The new research program received a two-year auspicious development grant for another allocation from the Universities' Partnership organized by the Ministry of Universities, Industry and Innovation in the spring of 2024. The program's project managers are Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir, professor of art studies at the Icelandic Language and Culture Department of the University of Iceland, Bryndís Snæbjörnsdóttir, visiting professor at the Iceland University of the Arts and Ingibjörg Jóhannsdóttir, curator of the Icelandic Museum of Art.
