Students of the Iceland University of the Arts's Film Arts will be widely featured on the international film scene this fall. Their short films will be shown at the RIFF - International Film Festival in Reykjavík, at the Nordisk Panorama in Malmö and at Nordic Talents in Copenhagen.

Nordic Panorama
September 18 -23 in Malmö
The festival, devoted to Nordic short and documentary films, features the short film Sarah by Steinar Þór Kristinsson (see above) nominated for awards in the category Best Nordic Short Film.
Nordic Talents (September, Copenhagen)
Nordic Talents is an annual competition for recent graduates of filmmaking in the Nordic countries The aim of the event is to create a platform to promote networking and collaboration among professionals in the field of filmmaking.

This year took Signý Rós Ólafsdóttir, recently graduated from the Film Arts Department of LHÍ, participated in the project Are you God, Grandpa? based on Þorgrím Þráinsson's children's book of the same name. The work was among ten projects chosen to participate this time.

LHÍ at RIFF
In addition to students, there are representatives from among the teachers of the Faculty of Film Arts at LHÍ at RIFF. Guðrún Elsa Bragadóttir, assistant professor and subject manager of academic subjects, leads a panel at the festival, Women in Film: Breaking Walls and Rewriting Narratives (Women in Film: Breaking Barriers & Rewriting Narrative). Erlendur Sveinsson, adjunct professor and professional director, sits on the jury in the foreign short films category and will also lead the masterclass with Anton Corbijn and guide in the Young Nordic Voices Think Tank.
