Icelandic and Nordic scholars present Compassion Revolution at the CILECT conference in Mexico
From October 27 to 31, 2025, the CILECT Conference took place in Guadalajara, Mexico, bringing together teachers and administrators of film schools from all over the world At the conference presented Steven Meyers, dean of the Faculty of Film Arts LHÍ, and Jan Nåls from Arcada University in Helsinki together with Hanne Westgård from Kristiania University in Oslo, his joint research project, Compassion Revolution.
The project is about fostering empathy and care in film education both in teaching, management and in everyday work The presentation was in the form of a workshop that the team is developing with the goal of creating an environment where empathy and human relationships are in the foreground.
CILECT is an international collaborative network of film schools and the conference is one of the world's largest forums for professional dialogue on teaching filmmaking.
