With Misvariation, students work in their second year of fashion design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in collaboration with the Icelandic Red Cross Clothing Collection. Each student makes their own clothing line with an emphasis on personal vision and processes three all-clothing items from used clothing and textiles. With the project, students gain deep insight and understanding of the impact of the clothing industry on communities and the environment, as well as getting to know research work and participating in a research team. Different communication channels that fashion designers can use are examined, including sharing on social media, through installations and design exhibitions.
