The Film Festival FILM took place for the second time in Bíó Paradís on May 27-29 under the auspices of the Cinematographic Arts Department of the Iceland University of the Arts.

This time the festival marked a historic turning point, as this year the first cohort of the department graduates and thus students graduate for the first time with a university degree in filmmaking in Iceland.

It is safe to say that the festival was a great success. All four shows were sold out, and demand far exceeded expectations In total, cinematic works were shown by 34 students, as well as play reading of scripts by two screenwriters.

Diverse and exotic programs

FILMA is primarily a harvest festival of the Faculty of Cinematic Arts, where students present the results of the winter The festival is done in close collaboration with students involved in all its aspects, from planning and execution to presentation and exhibitions.

This three-day festival included four performances for a packed auditorium, where a total of 32 film works were shown The first performance was devoted to the final projects of the 1st year trainees, the second screening offered the final works of the 2nd year trainees, and the third was dedicated to the graduate work At the end, a special festival screening was held where the graduation works were shown again.

The works were extremely diverse in content and approach and reflected the students' cooperation, creativity, imagination and their artistic vision.
