Una Þorleifsdóttir has been appointed to the position of dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts and Ingimar Ólafsson Waage has been appointed to the position of dean of the Faculty of Art Education. They will start working as deans at the University of the Arts on August 1st.

Una Þorleifsdóttir has a bachelor's degree in theatre studies and art from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a master's degree in directing and theatre studies from Royal Holloway, University of London. The qualification committee's review states, among other things, that the qualification committee considers there is no doubt that Una is at the forefront of the professional field of performing arts and has a continuous strong artistic career as well as extensive teaching experience. Una is a leading performing artist with excellent knowledge and extensive experience in her field. She is an active researcher in her work as a director and screenwriter and has published theoretical texts about her research. Una also has extensive, comprehensive experience in academic work and teaching at university level, was a university lecturer at the performing arts department from 2005 - 2022, where she was instrumental in developing the program at the 2020212.

Ingimar Ólafsson Waage studied at the MHÍ Faculty of Painting and postgraduate studies in art at the École Nationale des Beaux-arts de Lyon in France. He completed pedagogy and pedagogy for secondary school teachers from the Iceland Teachers College and M.Ed. in philosophy and sociology of education from the University and is currently finalizing his postgraduate studies in educational sciences at the University. In the opinion of the qualification committee, it is stated that Ingimar has established himself as an authorized researcher in the field of art education with solid knowledge in his field. He is at the forefront of the domestic field, in addition to being active on the international stage. Ingimar has extensive experience in academic work and teaching at the university level and has been a lecturer at the art education department of LHÍ since 2018, but he started working at LHÍ in 2013, first as a part-time teacher and later as a child teacher at the University of Art and later on the level of Art Education and has been named as a member of the Art Education and in Ingimar in the LHÍ in the field.
