In her presentation Þóranna will talk about creating site - specific works; about exploring, mapping, memorizing, sound-hunting and transformative approaches, engaging emotionally and physically to a place through experiments and exercises.

Þóranna Dögg Björnsdóttir studied music from a young age and completed her leaving exam in classical piano performance from the FÍH Music School. She completed her bachelor's degree in ArtScience from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and her M.Art.Ed degree in art pedagogy at the Iceland University of the Arts. Þóranna has attended various courses and workshops in connection with music, sound and art and taught in that regard. Þóranna's subjects in artistic creation are many and varied, but often revolve around the worldview of the individual, how she is shaped and developed. Þóranna has throughout the years worked on interdisciplinary projects in her artistic creation, where the audience's participation is often an artistic starting point in shaping image and sound; taking forms through live performances, installations, sculptures and sound works
Þóranna's works have been performed widely and she has performed at numerous concerts and art festivals in Iceland and abroad. Þóranna has also worked with the art group Wunderland (see https://wunderland.dk/) for years.
