The Creative Arts Research Center is hosting a symposium on research into the working life of culture and creative industries and how university students' research projects can be used in that regard. The practical value of student research, students' connections and access to companies and institutions, ideas for projects discussed and grant opportunities will be discussed.

Lilja Björk Haraldsdóttir presents her master's project on research on audience development within performing arts institutions in Iceland, and Júlíus Jóhannesson presents her research on the distribution and reception of Icelandic films on the international market. Lilja Björk is completing her MA in cultural management from the University of Bifröst and Júlíus MA in media and communication studies from the University of Iceland. Then Arndís Vilhjálmsdóttir, research director at Statistics Iceland, gives a talk about students' involvement in projects at the institute.

In addition to the presentations, a panel discussion will take place on the subject, where the audience benefits from the contribution of a diverse group. Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir leads the seminar.

The seminar will take place on June 18. in the new premises of the Music Center at Austurstræti 5, at 13:00-15:30. The event will be streamed and the participants are asked to register and specify whether they will be present at the venue or on streaming.
