Helga Guðný Hallsdóttir
B.Mus.Ed. Classical vocal and instrumental instruction

At the age of 8, Helga Guðný started studying cello at Hafnarfjörður's Music School and was a student there for the longest time with Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir. In 2022, she started studying at the Iceland Academy of the Arts under the guidance of Sigurðar Bjarka Gunnarsson.

Along with the cello studies, Helga has sung in quite a few choirs, including the Hamrahlíðar choir and the chamber choir Huldi, and has participated in numerous choir projects in Iceland and abroad. Helga has also performed as a cellist both in the field of classical music and popular music.

For the last three years, Helga has been a summer employee in Drafnarhús, day training for people with dementia, where she has used her musical skills a lot. In the work, the idea for her final thesis came about, but she wrote about the use of music in service resources for people with dementia and the importance of having a good background in music and guidance.

Since January, Helga has worked as a substitute teacher at Sigursvein's Music School.
