Beisik Bitch//Nanna Gunnars
MA in Performing Arts
28.01.-29.01.26
Beisik bitch. Who is she? How does she behave? What conversations does she have? In what environment does she thrive? Does anyone take her seriously?
Maybe she's struggling like the roach with the pole to not be bitter? Or is it the other way around, does she want to be as bitter as possible to fit in with the group?
Nanna Gunnars has gone deep into researching the concept of “beisik bitch” and now shares the results for the first time with the audience on stage. She delves into the staging of the self and questions the expectations that are placed on women in today's individualist-oriented society, even in the equality paradise of Iceland where women are all roads capable - isn't it otherwise?
Nanna Gunnars (she) is an actress and producer She graduated with a BA (Hons) in European Drama Studies from Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in London in 2012 and has since made many appearances, on stage, in voice-over and as an event director Nanna is one half of a creative studio called Huldufugl, which blends theatre and the latest technology Hidden Bird has staged theatrical productions within virtual reality; the award-winning show Kassinn and Parallel People which was shown at the National Theatre Huldufugl recently released the first Icelandic film in virtual reality, Fallax.
