This work involves studying the doll and its multiple manifestations in history and culture The history of dolls and the way that doll play affects the person playing with the doll will be briefly reviewed. For example, doll play allows children to gain a sharper emotional intelligence as they learn to see themselves in others by playing with the doll The doll is also viewed as an icon in relation to feminist theory and the objectification of women In designing the work, I wanted to interweave the presentation of a study of a toy as if it were a sculpture or a work of art and the childlike freedom and curiosity that comes with playing with dolls.
The goal of this project is to research dolls and the different manifestations of them through history and culture. It goes briefly over the history of dolls and how the doll can affect those who play with them. For instance, doll games allow my thoughts from researching a toy as if it was a culture or a place with the children's freedom with the children's rights with the children's rights with the issues.
