A fragment of the world becomes a photographI enlarge the photograph beyond its resolution limit It breaks up into pixels Unexpected patterns and shapes are createdI knit each pixel individually, a pixel that used to be part of a digital whole, the photograph Pixel becomes a loop, knitted from coarse wool yarn I knit another loop, and then another Gradually, a new, tangible whole is formed. New textures and human mistakes.
What do I think of? Is this still a photograph? Or has it become something else?
A fragment of the world becomes a photograph. I enlarge the photograph beyond its resolution limits. It breaks down into pixels. Unexpected patterns and forms emerge. I knit each pixel individually, a pixel that was once part of the digital whole, the photograph. The pixel becomes a pitch, knitted from coarse wool yarn. I know another pitch, and then another. Gradually, a new, tangible whole takes shape. What is it that I'm holding? Is this still a photograph? Or has it become something else?
