Michael Richardt aka MRI is a Danish-Nigerien long-durational performance artist based in Reykjavík. His interdisciplinary practice encompasses video, sculpture, painting, music, writing, film and performance. Since 2011, Richardt has been working with his performance character Iridescence, a materialization of light. His art is anchored in the physical body and a personal system of colors. Richardt has reproduced works of Marina Abramović at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and Henie Once Art Center, and his work has been exhibition at Reykjanes Art Museum, The Nordic House, Art Museum, Aarhus Kunsthal, The Vannabus Kunsthal, Nikola Kunstal and Nohal Exhibition of Art Center.

„MA D.A.“ is a combination of the concert ‘MA’ and the durational performance installation ‘DA’. It bridges two cultural institutions in Korpovogur and hybrid music, visual and performance art, in an attempt to tie the various practices of Richardt's art together in space and time. 

‘DA’ is a part of the group exhibition ‘Stare’ in nearby Gerðasafn which also features the award-winning documentary ‘My Mother is Pink’ by Cecilie Debell, about Richardt's mother. 

Both Salarinn and Gerðasafn offer free admission on the day for those who wish to experience Richardt's ‘MA’ concert at Salurinn and his installation ‘D.A.’at Gerðasafn as well as the documentary ‘My mother is Pink’.

Both venues are wheelchair accessible and sitting is provided at the concert. Audience members are invited to move freely between Richardt's concert in the Hall and view Richardt's contribution to the group exhibition ‘Stara’ at Gerðasafn. Please note that „MA D.A.“ may contain artistic nudity, mature themes and strong language and is not suitable for children.
