Verkefnið leitast við að sýna fram á fjárhagslegan ábata af fjárfestingu í meðferðarúrræðum við fíknivanda. Fjárhagslegt tap samfélagsins af fíknivanda er talið vera 67.4 milljarðir á ári og erlendar rannsóknir sýna að fjárfestingar í meðferðarúrræðum geta skilað sér sjöfalt til baka.

In the project, the average social cost of a person with an addiction problem is summarized and examined whether it results in an improved life. It appears that investing in treatment options not only improves the lives of people with addiction problems, but society as a whole.

How do you want to spend your money?

This project seeks to protest the financial benefits of investing in treatment for Subject Use Disorder (SUD). The financial losses society suffers related to addiction is estimated to be 67.4 billion per year and foreign studies say that investments in treatment resources show a sevenfold return to society.

In the project, the average social cost of a person with Substance Use Disorder is completed and studied to understand if it results in better living conditions. It appears that investing in treatment resources not only improves the lives of people with Subject Use Disorder, but society as a whole.
