Most people take it for granted to be able to grab an apple and bite it while their minds stay in a thousand other places, as is so glad to happen in today's society where it is easy to make their minds wander or be filled with anxiety about tomorrow's tasks. The person who guards the apple won't let anyone get away with eating it with such limited consciousness. When you approach the apple, the claws lock into it so it is impossible to eat it thoughtlessly. However, the person who guards the apple serves an apple dagger, which can be used to cut one bite at a time, and thus taste the forbidden fruit in mindfulness - consciously and locally.
One might thoughtlessly grab an apple and eat it while thinking of a thousand other things, as one tends to get stuck in their head or anxious about tomorrow in modern society. This apple's keeper will not allow a human to get away with eating it with such little regard for it. That is why the claws of the apple in place when it senses the approach of a human, making it impossible to grab it. However, an apple dagger can be used to mindfully cut ones.
