Lára Ruth Clausen is an assistant choir director, singer and musician with extensive experience in choir management, music performance and performing arts. She has worked as assistant choir director of the children's choirs of the Free Church in Reykjavík since 2021 and in Hallgrímskirkja since 2025, where she participates in the preparation and implementation of choir rehearsals. She has also supervised Sunday schools in several churches, including Hallgrímskirkja, the Free Church, Langholt Church and Áskirkja.
Lára is studying BA in classical singing at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and graduating in 2026. She completed her advanced degree in solo singing from Menntaskóli I music in 2023 and has completed her middle and basic degree in singing from the Kópavogur School of Music, along with studies in flute, piano and musicology.
She has participated in numerous stage projects and operas, including La Liberazione (2025), The Bat (2024), Hansel and Gretel (2022) and The Marriage of Figaro (2019). In the years 2021 -2024, she sang in the show 9 lives at the City Theater.
Lára has performed both as a choir and soloist in diverse musical projects, worked with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and participated in concerts and recordings in Iceland and abroad. She sings in Hallgrímskirkja's Choir and Huldur's chamber choir and participated in the World Youth Choir in 2024 and 2025. She has also been active in youth work and sat on councils organized by Ungikór, NorbuSang and YMCA and K.
