About the project

The Icelandic manuscripts are a living collaborative effort of designers over the centuries They have been reworked many times, modified and repaired, up to the present day In the manuscripts, unfinished pages can still be found lacking the drawing of historical characters, initials and hieroglyphs With the project I take that part in me, as a modern type designer and illustrator, and work live fonts and illustrations that utilize motion graphics to connect tradition and contemporary.

The Icelandic manuscripts are a collaborative, ever-evolving project shaped by many designers across the centuries. They have been repeated, linked, and refined up to the present day. Some still have blank spaces where the drawing of the illuminated letters and decorative elements are unfinished. With this project I take on that role, as a type designer and illustrator, creating a dynamic typeface alongside animated conditions that combine with a contemporary approach.
