Diljá began violin studies at the Music School in Akureyri at the age of four and graduated from there with an advanced degree in the spring of 2020 under the guidance of Mögna Guðmundsdóttir. She added studies in viola performance in her last years at the Music School with Eydís S. Úlfarsdóttir and took her middle degree in the spring of 2020.

In the fall of 2021, Diljá began a bachelor's degree in classical instrument teaching at the Iceland Academy of the Arts with viola as the main instrument, then under the guidance of Þórunn Óskar Marinósdóttir. At the University of the Arts, Diljá also studied Creative Music Media and graduated from there with a BA degree in the spring of 2024.

Along with her studies, she has participated in and worked on diverse musical projects, including holding two music courses together with Magnea Tómasdóttir for adults with intellectual disabilities. In addition, she has worked and played with various orchestras and musicians both in concerts and in recordings. These include the Ungfónia, the North Symphony Orchestra, Kordu Samfonia, the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra's Youth Orchestra, the Erasmus Orchestra and the string quartet Eyja.
