I started by researching the clothing of the American working class and at the same time the punk scene in the UK around 1980. As these groups differ, I would like to say that they share making their clothes last as much as possible and making them more personal In my failed project, I therefore made clothes inspired by work clothes, and then mainly defective materials, which have gone through generations and have therefore gone through major changes to suit the person wearing the clothes today, regardless of gender.

I started by researching American workwear and at the same time the British punk scene around the 80’s. As these groups are different, I feel they share the sentiment of making their clothes last and making them more personal as well. In my Abnormalities project I made clothes inspired by workwear, with a focus on denim, that have been passed down for generations and have there before undergone a lot of adjustments to fit the current wearer, not defined by gender.
