We will go on a trip from Reykjavík to Venice with stops at many places along the way. The lead-up to and development of the exhibition Pocket Universe, the collaboration behind the exhibition and the journey from Reykjavík to Venice, where Ásta Fanney participates on behalf of Iceland in the 61st International Art Biennale 2026.
The Pocket Universe show opened in early May and ends in November this year.
Unnar Örn graduated from Iceland's School of Art and Handicrafts in 1999 and subsequently completed a master's degree at the University of the Arts in Malmö. He has exhibited in numerous private and group exhibitions in Iceland as well as abroad for the last 25 years. Unnar's work is owned by all major museums and cultural institutions in Iceland as well as private museums in Europe and the United States. Along with studio work, Unnar has performed various roles in the field of art such as exhibition, editing, writing, teaching and diverse social activities.
A series of lectures is held every semester at the Fine Arts Department of the Iceland University of the Arts and is open across the school's departments and the public. In seven lectures during the semester, experts in the field of art discuss their own research, experiments and artistic creation.
The lecture will take place in a lecture hall in LHÍ Laugarnes at Laugarnesvegi 91, 105 Reykjavík.
