Svava Daggar's work is personal and social in nature. They are often based on her and others' experiences with a system that is not done for people. Regulations that even prevent the help from paying off.
‘The painting is of what's left at the moment. I had envisioned going out with the canvas and letting everything loose and I thought it was such a disgustingly good idea and I was looking forward to it but then there was nothing left, not at the moment.’

In No, but thank you anyway Svava Dögg works with paintings, text and installation The trigger for the exhibition lies, among other things, in the sadness of the loss of her little sister and the experience of having to find a way to process grief herself when appropriate support was not available That personal experience is related to larger questions about help, waiting, rejection and the responsibility of society towards people who need support.
The inspiration for the exhibition also comes from other people's experiences with Icelandic systems; stories of long waits for services, analyzes and resources and the feeling of having to repeatedly prove that the need for help is real.
Svava Dögg works across media and draws material from personal experiences, feelings and situations that can be difficult to put into words. In her work, the personal and social meet and she is interested in what happens when the individual's experience comes across systems, rules and resources that should be there but do not always prove accessible when the going gets tough.

The exhibition is part of the solo exhibition series of BA students in their third year of art, which will take place between September 17 - November 26, 2026.
