For the past ten years, students in their first year at the master's studies Faculty of Fine Arts have spent one week in Hjalteyri as part of the autumn workshop.
The project is a collaborative project of Verksmiðinn á Hjalteyri and Iceland University of the Arts. Students put on an exhibition in the Factory, where the history of the factory and the uniqueness of the place are the material and subject of their work.
This time, nine LHÍ students and two KUNO students stay in Hjalteyri from September 13 - 20. Sigurður Guðjónsson, visual artist and professor at Iceland University of the Arts, leads the workshop together with Gústav Geir Bollason, visual artist and founder of the Factory.
The stay of the master's students ends with the exhibition umurmuration“, which opens in the Factory in Hjalteyri nk. Saturday, September 19 between 16:00-18:00.
