The IUA Music Department welcomes Italian pianist and professor Andrea Micucci from Conservatorio Puccini in Gallarate.
On Tuesday 20 October at 18:00, he gives a lecture-recital in Dynjandi. At the dawn of the twentieth century, European composers began breaking away from traditional tonality and fixed forms. For decades, the Franco-Russian lineage was viewed with suspicion by musicologists, not least under the influence of Theodor W. Adorno. Through the work of Vladimir Jankélévitch and Stefan Jarociński, it is now recognised as one of the great movements in music history, rooted in Symbolism. Building on their work, Micucci offers ideas for interpreting these masterpieces.
Programme
Aleksandr Skrjabín – Impromptu op. 14
Gabriel Fauré - Impromptu No. 1 Op. 25 and No. 5 Op. 102
Claude Debussy - Images, Book 1
On Wednesday 21 October at 13:00, he teaches a piano masterclass, also in Dynjandi.
Admission is free. All welcome.
