Judge me, I walk on the glass
A documentary film describing the experiences of a boy's mother who develops an addiction disease
„Judge me, I walk on the glass.“ The film is a self-entenography, where the artistic process is about sharing your own experiences and life experiences as a mother. The goal of making this documentary film is that personal experiences can be used as educational material, learning materials, teaching materials and prevention education for young people and others.
The documentary film stands as an independent work of art and is made up of the author's personal database (e. archives), among other things from old photographs, videos of old VHS and 8mm video tapes, texts, poems, drawings from sketchbooks, diary entries and other things from a private collection that have been digitized.
The topic is an addiction and my son's life course over the past 20 years and his struggle with the disease, and the film depicts my experiences as the mother of a boy who develops an addiction disease from the age of 15 The scenario takes over his life and to a large extent the lives of all of us around him The film provides insight into the journey of a mother, artist, teacher and person who recalls difficult memories of serious events and difficult decisions.
In the film, the experience is mirrored with the contemporary world, both in the students I teach at junior high school as well as in our society Serious consequences of an addiction disease are described and since this is a true story, it is my sincere hope that it increases credibility and makes it easier for the audience to put themselves in the shoes of the person who narrates a true-historical scenario that no one could imagine experiencing themselves or with their family. But an addiction disease does not ask about class or status and can in practice throw away anyone. It is a choice to start tinkering with mind-changing topics, whether it is alcohol or something else. Not everyone ends up with an addiction disease, but there is no one who knows where fiddling ends when it begins. The film transcends the bleak reality of a child who becomes addicted to drugs, stagnates in development as an adult and fails to recover, despite repeated attempts at treatment.
The work is personal vulnerability and is done with the consent of my son and other family members.
