A deformed creature, with its organs exposed, holds a dagger, which is constructed of iron from an Icelandic bog and processed using ancient metallurgical methods The creature is molded from clay glazed with a mixture of Icelandic minerals, bog metal, and shell crushing The viscera are encased in clay that has been collected from hot springs.

The materiality and symbolism of the work carries with it ideas of violence and death A warning of the hopeless struggle with primitive and evil forces, which lurk beneath the surface of today's comfort This envelope of honor and comfort obscures man's perception of the material world, while his essence quietly dissolves.

Glazed stoneware, ochre clay, wrought iron, wood planks

A mutilated figure with its earthy organs exposed, holds a dagger made of wrought iron melted from Icelandic bog iron using ancient metallurgy methods. The figure, made from stoneware clay and a glaze, mixed with Icelandic bog iron, crushed seashells and native Icelandic clay. Its organs are made of ore clay collected from geothermal pools.

Violence and death animate this material presence. Its manifestation bares a spiritual warning of the helpless struggle against prime evils that lie beneath comfortable ignorance. This veil of comfort clouds the perception of the material world and leaves its essence in a forelorn state of quiet dissolution.
