BA Creative Music Media

Music for All
The project is based on Diljár's final thesis, which deals with the accessibility and opportunities of individuals with challenges and disabilities to study music. In collaboration with a training center in Akureyri, she brought in a small group of individuals with disabilities who are interested in music and with them held a music workshop. The aim of the workshop is to create music together, in any form where participants can enjoy themselves as well as promote equal opportunities for music practice.

Diljá Finnsdóttir
Diljá studied violin at the Music School in Akureyri and graduated from there with an advanced degree in 2020. She added studies in viola playing in her last years at the Music School, and in the fall of 2021 she began a bachelor's degree in classical instrument teaching at the Iceland Academy of the Arts with viola as her main instrument. She then added creative music communication and took both courses together. Along with her studies, Diljá has participated in diverse musical projects, worked and played with various bands and musicians both in concerts and in recordings.
