ABOUT THE WORK
The graduates of the acting course tackle one of the most beloved works of theater literature, the Cherry Orchard, by Anton Chekhov, directed by Edda Bjargar Eyjólfsdóttir.
This wonderful work never expires and always has a business with us no matter what the times are Ljubov Andreévna and her family and entourage come home to a beautiful family rowing team with the cherry orchard that is to be auctioned for their neglect and spending The humanness is discussed here, about the person in all its wonderful, imperfect and grim glory Everything comes to an end in this world and everything is subject to change, but the fear of change can be crippling The cherry orchard actually lives in all of our hearts, all we have to do is take good care of him and love.

DIRECTOR'S ADDRESS
It is with great gratitude and humility that I write this address First and foremost, it is gratitude for being able to work with and direct these glorious and talented graduates of the LHÍ acting program who have truly shown what they are made of With sincerity, beauty and courage as a weapon, they have worked diligently in their studies as they have grown and prospered with each project They have steadily created their own uniqueness and laid the foundation for the artist in them so delight has been to watch.
Secondly, it is gratitude for being able to stage with them one of the most beautiful and best plays, the Cherry Garden by Anton Chekhov. How lucky we are to have been in that garden to play! Chekhov and his works have been close to my heart for a long time, or from the moment when I saw the Seagull in Rimas Tuminas' production, here at the National Theater It was as if a veil was removed, everything was so clear and so beautiful, also funny and tearful, I felt I understood these people Then I was to see all of Rimas's performances, including the Cherry Orchard Mrs. Emilia put on an unforgettable performance at the Cherry Orchard in the House of Héd, all of these are performances that live with a man.
It's an understatement to say that from now on I loved Chekhov's plays and stories with all my heart and have seen productions of them around the world.
Chekhov has a unique view of life and of the human soul He is a genius at telling us stories about the person, of ourselves, our hopes and desires, and he does it in his own way with courtesy, respect and love so that everyone can relate to the characters and what they are going through He tells us stories of humanity, what it is to exist and what we can be tearful of in our greatest suffering His plays always have a mission for us because everything goes in circles and the person is always the same when it all comes to everything In this story, the characters are dealing with the fear of change- „everything ends in this world“ says in the work, new generations take over from old, periods in people' lives we begin to let go, to face what we fear the most? In this process we have been fearing of the fear of being at home, and what we fear of being at home that the hitchhands of the hitchhands of the hitchhands of the hitchhands of the hitchhands.
I would like to thank the National Theater and all the wonderful people who work there for their wonderful cooperation and for welcoming us so well. Likewise, I thank the Iceland Academy of the Arts and all relatives for their generous and good cooperation.
