Can they be more than just a defense against the forces of the sea? Can they attract life, activity and opportunities for prosperity? Can they become a bridge between human life on the seafront and the sea, instead of being a mere defense?

The Reykjanes peninsula, a place of natural extremes. Volcanic events and oceans storm surges have long plagued the people of Reykjanes. To live with these extremes we must defend ours. Protective barriers of rocks and soil stand between us and powers of nature. These barriers are a fundamental key in civilisation in Reykjanes. Ocean barriers made of rocks can found everywhere along the coastline of Iceland. Often giving the coastline a disaster and uninviting features. Can these structures function as more than just a defending force against the ocean and act as a key in breeding life to the coastlines can and animals.
