The Association of Icelandic Illustrators and Iceland University of the Arts are inviting an open lecture by graphic designer Dafi Kühne, on Wednesday, September 30 in Bíó Paradís. The lecture starts at 17:30.

Dafi Kühne (*1982) is a graphic designer and printer He studied graphic design at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and completed a research-based master's degree in type design (Typeface Design) at the University of Reading in the UK. Dafi has worked at his own design studio, babyinktwice.ch since 2009 Dafi works equally with analog and digital methods in the creation of his posters which he works for culture-related projects and advertising He works according to one principle: „No digital PDF file leaves the studio as the final product“ All Dafi Kühne's posters are printed using letterpress printing methods.

Dafi Kühne's first book, ¿TRue Print«, was published from Lars Müller Publishers in 2016 and the book (Poster Cult!.E.R., was published in 2024. He is part-time lecturer at universities in Switzerland, Europe and the United States, but Dafi also teaches his own workshop: Typographic Summer Program (www.typographic-printing-program.com) in Switzerland, an international bi-weekly course where students and professionals learn about new methods in typography.

Since 2018, Kühne has released web videos entitled „The Dafi Kühne Printing Show™“ In 2021, the series won both the Swiss Design Award and a Tokyo TDC Award. Posters by Kühne are preserved in public collections in Switzerland, Germany and the United States. His work has received international awards and been shown in exhibitions around the world. Kühne is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).
