Suits and traditional menswear were prominent in this
project. during the research process I looked at what makes garments
masculine or feminine and how these symptoms appear in format
and form.
I decided to base the design on a classic tailoring type suit,
but add softer and more feminine accents that break up
traditional gender boundaries. By trusting my property process found
I how small shifts in format and content could change the experience
memory of the garment itself.
The goal was to design garments suitable for all genders and
emphasize the balance between strong form and flowing
details. I looked up materials that were stiff and strong and
mixed them with softer materials and created a connection between them.
