Ingvi showed an interest in music at a young age, So his parents thought it would be nice to put him in music studies as soon as possible and were applied for a course through the Suzuki method, and he was given a place at the age of 3 on the violin. But for some reason he didn't solve anything on it and instead waited a year to play the piano instead.
Ingva's Norwegian father, Jon Kjell Seljeseth, was a powerful force and arranger in the Icelandic music scene and had a unique way of bringing Italian popular song tunes into a new guise that was a hit with Icelandic listeners, not least at festive times. With such roots, it was perhaps inevitable for Ingva to break free from the grip of music.
Ingvi has not yet tied himself to one direction, but is fascinated by diverse styles within music. Among other things, you could hear his first steps in popular music with the band Retro Stefson, where different styles and playfulness were enjoyed.
Today he continues to explore new ways, which are reflected both in his playing and teaching. Studying at Sigursvein's Music School, FÍH and LHÍ, he has enjoyed the guidance of many of the most respected pianists in the country. These include Örn Magnússon, Júlíana Rún Indriðadóttir, Vignir Þór Stefánsson, Þórir Baldursson, Eythór Gunnarsson, Peter Máté and Edda Erlendsdóttir.
