I still remember when I went to my grandmother's house in summers with my parents The trees surround the grounds in a way that creates an open area with no wind but the sun still shines through Wind shelter is rare in Iceland Many family occasions have been held there, Grandma even married her life partner thereI realize that not everyone is lucky enough to have access to such an area as Grandma's garden Therefore, the main strategy of my task is to create such an area for Sandgerði's next generations by designing a modular house for current generations that could be removed in the future.
I still remember going to my grandmother's house during summers with my parents. The trees around the property creating a pocket of grass with no wind but still bright and sunny. The absence of wind is rare in Iceland. There were many family events there, my grandma even had her wedding with the love of her life there. I realize that not everyone is so lucky to have access to a space such as her garden and so my project aims to create such a space for the future generations of Sandgerði by providing memorable modular homes for current ones.
