Recently graduated stage writers now go like a storm around the performing arts world and premiere one work after another on the city's stages.
Last weekend, Katrín Lóa Hafsteinsdóttir premiered her work Mergur in Tjarnarbíó, but the work was Katrína Lóa's graduation work from the stage writer's course in the spring of 2024.
On the big stage of the National Theater, there was the premiere of the musical Ormstunga, which Hafsteinn Níelsson wrote together with Ólíver Þorsteinsson, but the work first saw the light of day as Hafstein's individual work in his second year on the stage author's course in autumn 2023.
Next weekend, two dedicated students will premiere their work in collaboration with Borgarleichúsið. Erna Kanema Mashinkila is the author and director of the work, When I see you, I see myself on the New Stage, which was also Kanema's graduation work in the fall of 2023. On the Little Stage there is a premiere of the play, Not an idea, directed by Egill Andrason, who graduated in the spring of 2024.
