Part of my background inspiration for my work in Kubburinn, comes from the Tibetan Buddhist Pilgrims who worship at a Tempel by walking around its outside base, usually clockwise — an experience that can prove meditative for Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. The tradition holds that circumambulation should be practiced with body, speech, and mind—walking, saying prayers, and thinking beneficial thoughts.
Jette Dalsgaard graduated with a BA in Fine arts from Royal Academy of Art, Den Haag, NL in 2018. In 2019 she became a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, in UK and the Danish Art Association BKF. Her previous studies include Kunstskolen Spektrum in DK, and the University of the Arts in London. She has participated in several exhibitions in Denmark, UK and The Netherlands and was chosen as one of the best Graduates in 2018. She has been included in several juried exhibition such as Charlottenborgs Spring Exhibition, at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, DK and Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, Copenhagen,DK. Her artistic work evolves around sculpture and installation, she works with a huge range of materials and understands her ability to work in different materials as part of a toolbox to express the poetic, mental and tactile space.
