Post-Internet Design in architecture, design and other artforms related to public spaces
Þetta námskeið er byggt á hugmyndinni um að unga kynslóðin, svokölluð „post-internet generation“ (kynslóð), líti með öðrum augum á heiminn en eldri kynslóðir, bæði í rýmislegu og vitsmunalegu tilliti. Hver nemandi mun velja viðfangsefni sem hann tengir við t.a.m. sjálfbærni, COVID-19, frelsi, kvenréttindi, sjálfsmynd ... o.s.frv. og þróa verkefni í tengslum við hönnun í almenningsrými. Grunnurinn að þessu námskeiði verður skilningur á gagnrýnni hugsun í samtali við bæði aðra nemendur og kennara.
This course is based upon the idea that the young generation, the so-called post-internet generation has a different way to look at the world than older generations, both spatially and intellectually. For this course, each student will choose a subject that he connects to such as sustainability, covid, liberty and freedom, women's right...etc. Each student will go deep into those current subjects and create a small project by establishing a dialogue with the public space. The result will be discussed with all the other students throughout the course. Critical thinking will be the base for this course in a multidisciplinary environment with an introduction to research-based design.
Learning outcome / Hæfniviðmið: In the end of the course students can:
- Develop basic methodology for critical thinking.
- Develop basic research-based design.
- Develop the capacity of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Develop the understanding of project insertion, through different forms, in public spaces.
