“Being well in/with art”

Contemporary artistic practices maintain an intense relationship with the reality that contextualizes them. This relationship is transformed into works that contain all the opacity inherent to their condition as singular positions (even if they come from a collective). That is why they do not assert themselves as objects of pure communication. They are more than that. They are the subtle turning point introduced by the subjectivity of the authors.
And we have a certainty: the reality that surrounds us is not beautiful, quite the contrary.

There is, however, on my part, a notion that has helped me to maintain the well-being of the art making with this reality that escapes this condition (of well-being) through the dismantling of processes very much inserted in art from the 20th century on. I call this notion unanaesthesia, which tries to maintain a relationship of beauty (and, of course, certain well-being) even if the works remain intrinsically linked to the complex, ugly, and harsh reality that we face in our daily lives today. It is about this work proposal, with some examples of my own and other artists that I would like to share the possibilities of this notion.
